Terrorism and Extremism in the Name of Faith

In the monograph 'Terrorism and Extremism in the Name of Faith: Religion and it's Abuse in Politics', the authors explore the theological and ideological bases for «religious terrorism», drawing from a large array of sources, as well as regional particularities and underlying political reasons for extremist actions within the framework of global processes. The authors analyze Egyptian, Palestinian, Iranian, and Afghan muslim terrorist groups from the 1940s to the present time. Close attention is paid to the study of the roots and specifics characteristics of extremist and separatist movements in the former Soviet republics, and to the description of principles and methods suggested to counteract their spread.
