Panislamism: Origins and Contemporary Issues.

Through a historical lens, the author examines the ideological teachings of well-known Muslim religious and political authority figures; the author points out  correlations in their basic principles and differences in their political positions influenced by their respective historical periods. The author examines the evolution of panislamic theory and its tendency towards radicalization which has manifested itself in distinct ways during our time within the ideology and actions of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
