Mysteries of the Turkmen Demoraphy: problems, gaps, and falsifications.

This book about Turkmenistan demonstrates the ability to manipulate statistical data for political purposes, particularly with respect to altering figures and the  and make-up of the population. Included are research studies conducted by the author on the anti-Soviet migration of Turkmen people before World War II, the numbers of nomads and on demographic data about Turkmen tribes. Furthermore, close attention was paid to the number of human casualties in Turkmenistan due to World War II and largest earthquake of the twentieth century in Ashkhabad, on October 6th, 1948. The appendix includes statistical data on the states and peoples of Central Asia.
